Mark Cates, Director, Corporate Environmental Control, Corning Inc.

 

Mark Cates

Mark Cates is Executive Director Global Environmental Compliance for Operations and Products at Corning Incorporated, where he is responsible for fundamental environmental activities including regulatory compliance of operations and products, facility permitting, due diligence, site remediation, and sustainability initiatives. For the last several years, Mark has defined the structure for product compliance at Corning and is currently in the deployment phase. Corning is one of the world's leading innovators in materials science.

 

Mark has more than 34 years of experience with Corning Incorporated including the last 7 years in the environmental function. Mark joined the environmental effort after a variety of positions in operations and engineering. Mark's broad understanding of Corning Incorporated's diverse technology set and operations is instrumental to his current role.

 

Mark has been a member of the Board for NAEM the last three years. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech University with Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.
